A PERTH beauty therapist has set a hair-erasing world record - bikini waxing 130 people in just four hours.
Lareesa Guttery had no trouble trashing the previous record of 77, but getting volunteers wasn’t so easy.
“At one point we actually ran out,” she said, having initially planned to wax 100.
“We had to go out into the mall, and persuade people to come in and get waxed.” Two qualified beauty therapists were on hand on behalf of The Guinness Book of World Records to oversee the record attempt at a Perth salon. The result will be lodged formally after a television appearance tonight.
Ms Guttery, originally from the town of Nightcaps in New Zealand, said she was shocked at how quickly she got through the waxes - including half a dozen men.
“A couple of the women were in a bit of pain after the procedure, but there were no real mishaps, thankfully,” she said.
Ms Guttery said she was now considering an attempt on her own record.
“It is a bit early, but I think I could do 200 . . . if we can get the volunteers.”
