Well, I work at Pizza Hut. The great American pizza company that makes Pizza’s that aren’t really real pizzas - like the ones that came from Italy - but then Dominoes copied them and now the REAL Italian Pizzas aren’t really pizzas anymore because they are not the norm. ANYWAYS . . .
It all started Monday. I got my new roster for the week. And I found out I had a lunch shift the first day of University (yes, that’s right, I’m a slack Uni. student, that’s how I get the time to write this stuff! hehe) for the year. SO I told management that I can’t do that shift, because of Uni. And he said, well he can’t change it because I didn’t ask for the day off (you see, we have this diary where workers write down days that they can’t work) and I said yes, I know because I didn’t have to because it is on the sheet (we also have a sheet where we write down days/hours where we can’t work every week. and I had filled this out that I can’t work until after 4pm everyday, `cept weekdays) and he said, but that is last years. And i said well I wasn’t told that I had to write up a new one. and by the looks of it - no one else has written up a new one. THIS IS FEBRUARY. So, well, bad management. Any ways, he concluded by saying that if I could find a replacement, then I could swap. He knew fair well that no one else can work because we are all slack Uni students and can’t do it. SO, in the end I said I CAN’T DO IT. I’m not wasting $100 AU (that’s what a lecture pretty much costs) to earn possibly only $10.80 AU. School more important. (BTW: Delivery drivers only get $3.62 that’s including petrol reimbursement and wear and tear on car. so ALWAYS TIP THE PIZZA BOY!!!!)
NOW today is what REALLY pissed me OFF! You see, I was meant to work from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Now, I come back from a delivery, and here the manager telling the driver to go to another store 100km away to get flour, as our store has run out and all stores in the vicinity have also run out or got not much left. So he sets of to this store. And then I;m thinking, this means I’m gonna have to work later, cause he won;t be back in time before I was meant to finish, and I am the only other driver working tonight. SO management says, that I have to work till close (10pm) and I’m a bit pissed off, because I gotta work for the next 5 nights in a row (hey, I wouldn’t mind if it was good money! _ Its very quiet at the moment for deliveries) Now the driver that has gone to the other store - is the same driver as a shift that I HAD to have one of his SHIFTS because his car not working or something YEAH RIGHT it must have been ok to drive 200km straight!!!!!!!!!! SO THAT made me even more angry. WHAT a crap way to run a business. (the previous week I had told them I only wanted 2 or 3 nigths a week. this week I got 6. go figure.)
THEN after a really busy night - he gets back before close, around 9pm does one more delivery then GOES HOME at 9:30pm. WHY??? BLOODY WANKER. Anyway, that’s why I’m so pissed off. It doesn’t sound like much, but that extra 1.5 hours would have been nice sitting in front of the telly vegin’ out.
